Students who live outside the home zone and within the Auckland City boundaries, and who are not currently enrolled at EGGS, may apply for out of zone places if a ballot is offered.
Applications for out of zone places for Year 13 2022 are open, the deadline is Monday 24 January. The Board expects to be able to offer a limited number of places.
Applications have closed for Years 9-12.
Applications for out of zone places for Years 9-13 2023 will open in June 2022.
The process we follow to select out of zone students is prescribed by legislation and is set out in our enrolment scheme.
Applicants will be processed in the following order of priority:
Applicants will be required to provide evidence to support their inclusion in a priority group.
If there are more applicants than there are places available, we will use a ballot to randomly select students in the priority group to fill the places. Unsuccessful applicants will be ranked in their numerical order and put on a waiting list. Ballots are conducted under the supervision of a qualified solicitor.
Due to the large number of out of zone applications received and the limited number of places available, many applicants are unsuccessful in the ballot. It is important that you also apply to your local school for enrolment.
