Kia ora parents and caregivers,
As mentioned in a newsletter earlier this term, Epsom Girls Grammar School is finalising a new timetable for 2026 to better support the learning of all our students. The final details are being ironed out but we can confirm that:
- School will start each day at 8:35am
- School will finish each day at 3:15pm (except for a 2:55pm early finish on Wednesdays)
- There will be six periods per day (between 50-55 minutes in length)
- Interval will be 20 minutes, and lunchtime will be 40 minutes each day
This timetable structure follows a long period of review and reflection. Our current structure has not given sufficient time for all students to develop strong foundations in all learning areas. The changes will mean 110 more minutes every week for students to spend learning face-to-face with their specialist classroom teacher in a supportive environment. It will also ensure greater subject choice, and a more balanced, student-focused day.
