Dear Parents and Caregivers,
As we reach the end of Term 2, Parent Teacher Interviews over the past two weeks have provided an important opportunity for students, families, and teachers to reflect on learning progress so far this year. We have encouraged students to think of these reports as a “half-time team talk”, a chance to acknowledge strengths, identify areas for growth, and discuss the next steps needed for a positive second half of the year. We thank parents and caregivers for continuing to engage so positively in these conversations and in partnership with the School.
This term has also highlighted the importance of supporting young people to navigate the opportunities and challenges of online spaces. We continue to see the influence that social media habits can have on wellbeing, relationships, and engagement with learning. Earlier this term, we invited families to attend a screening of the Emmy Award-winning documentary Can’t Look Away, followed by a panel discussion with community and wellbeing representatives. The insightful and informative messages delivered and expertise shared by panellists, as well as audience members, were a very useful start to this discussion in our School.
In Term 3, we will seek feedback from parents and caregivers about how the School can continue to work in partnership with families to support students in navigating online spaces responsibly. We appreciate the thoughtful conversations already taking place within our community and look forward to continuing this work together.
Last week, we were pleased to unveil the first commissioned artwork of the Epsom Girls Grammar School grounds. Created by acclaimed New Zealand artist Justin Boroughs (and as a former teacher at our school), the work reflects the enduring spirit, joy, and history of our School. It was a special occasion to share with students, staff, Board members, as well as members of our wider community, and we thank all those involved in bringing this significant project to life.

As the term concludes, we acknowledge the commitment, resilience, and contribution of our students across all areas of School life. We also thank our staff, parents, and caregivers for the ongoing support provided to our young women throughout the term. We wish all members of our community a safe, restful, and enjoyable holiday break, and we look forward to welcoming students back refreshed for Term 3.
