Principal's Bulletin - January 2026

Artboard 1Newsletter Banner

Dear Parents and Caregivers,

Thank you for the care you have taken to prepare your daughters for the academic year. We have enjoyed welcoming students back onto campus and into classes for the year. We especially enjoyed welcoming new students with their parents and other family members at our pōwhiri on Thursday and we commend our Year 9 students for the courageous way that they have started the year – signing up for activities already, being patient with timetable questions when these have not been straight forward, and making use of their student homework diaries to ensure they are organised for the year.

This bulletin has some important information for parents and caregivers to stay connected to what is happening for your daughter at school. Please take note of these events and tools, which will keep you informed about the key platforms we will be using this year for students, parents, and staff.

SchoolBridge

From 2026, all parents and caregivers will have the opportunity to use SchoolBridge, a communication tool for our current students and parent/caregiver community. This platform provides up-to-date event and calendar information, students’ assessment calendars for the year, Daily Notices with information about groups and sports sign-ups, attendance notifications, tuck shop food ordering, and other useful information.

We recommend that you download the SchoolBridge app onto your phone, directly from the app store or via this link: SchoolBridge. You can also access SchoolBridge on any web page by typing eggs.bridge.school.nz or https://eggs.bridge.school.nz/.

Once on the SchoolBridge app (or website), simply use your normal EGGS KAMAR parent portal login and password to sign in and start accessing the information and platforms available. Please ensure you allow notifications so that you can receive important information and messages from us via the app (Note: If your email address is not linked to one of the named providers in the web browser, use the Magic Link sign-in option to receive an email that includes a link allowing you access).

Please spend some time exploring SchoolBridge, especially the School Calendar for events coming up this Term and throughout the year. Also, take time to look at the Student Notices, to see what sporting, music and other co-curricular opportunities are offered to our students. The “Report Absence” process is now live and can be used to notify us if your daughter is absent, and click on “Reports, Results and Financial” to access the KAMAR Portal.

If you have any questions as you access SchoolBridge, please contact Ryan Fowler via email, at office@eggs.school.nz.

2026 Prefect Team

The 2026 Prefect Team will be announced and introduced to the School tomorrow at our first full assembly of the year. This strong team of student leaders have already demonstrated leadership skills in various areas of the School and we look forward to watching them take on formal duties and further opportunities to continue to grow their leadership.

The assembly will start at approximately 12.20pm and the link to the live stream of tomorrow’s Prefect Assembly is here.

Student Diaries and Expectations

We have been impressed with our girls’ quick uptake of the Student Diaries, and again, we thank our parents who have paid (in part or in full) their school donation for this year which funded these Diaries. These funds are critical to us being able to offer the level of education and breadth of opportunities that our community expects at Epsom Girls Grammar School.

All students are expected to use their Student Diary to record work and practice set by their subject teachers, with due dates clearly stated. Reminders about sports trials, trainings, and games are also useful, as are other group practices or performances.

Parents are encouraged to regularly check what students are recording in their Student Diary so that timely support can be offered - in personal management or in taking the initiative to get additional academic support. Each week there is a space for parents to sign to indicate that they have checked their daughter’s Diary and the homework set.

Part of personal management is ensuring that girls are at school on time every day that the school is open. When students are late for school they are missing essential learning time. Please support your daughter(s) to get to school before 8.30am each morning so that she is in class at 8.35am, ready to learn.

This is the structure of the week:

Dates for Term 1
