In-School Teacher Training Opportunities

Epsom Girls Grammar is keen to support those wanting to train as a teacher working with one of the In-School Training providers for new graduates and those looking for a career change – onsite teacher training at a local high school with your university fees paid for and a stipend paid to you while you train. These models give teacher trainees the advantage of training on-the-job, alongside outstanding teachers and mentors, giving them first-hand experience of all school life. While training, they complete their Graduate or Post Graduate teachers diploma course online through the training provider.

Basketball Head Coach - Fixed Term, Part Time (during Basketball Season)

The Premier Basketball Head Coach is responsible for leading and developing the school’s top basketball programme, with a strong focus on performance, culture, and pathway development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the Premier team across trials, trainings, competition, tournaments, and playoffs.
  • Design and deliver a high-quality training programme, including training camps and weekly coaching
  • Set and uphold clear standards around attendance, accountability, and team culture.
  • Identify, develop, and support player leadership within the squad.
  • Work closely with the Sports Office to plan the season, manage logistics, and monitor athlete progress.
  • Support talent identification, selection, and long-term player development.
  • Mentor coaches and support managers and referees
  • Strengthen links with feeder schools and clubs

Sports Co-ordinator - Permanent, Part Time, Term Time Only (Hours to be negotiated)

Epsom Girls Grammar School is seeking a motivated and well-organised Sports Coordinator to support the delivery of sport within our school community. The role involves encouraging student participation, coordinating sporting programmes and events, and assisting with the overall development of sport at EGGS.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support and promote student involvement in sport
  • Support coordination of major school sports events
  • Manage registration, trials, budgets, staffing and season logistics for designated codes
  • Maintain records of participation and achievements
  • Assist with coaching or managing a team as required
  • Attend some after-hours and weekend fixtures
  • Manage sports equipment and uniform purchasing, and distribution

About You:

You will have strong administrative and communication skills, an interest in sport, and the ability to work confidently with students, staff, and coaches.

Applicants must have NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa.
