ARTS & CULTURAL NEWS

Arts and Cultural Awards

The fnal event on the Arts and Cultural calendar was a night of celebration and
recognition of success. The Arts and Cultural Awards are always a highlight of the year
and an important way for students and their parents to come together and celebrate
their amazing achievements. The theme this year was Frida Kahlo inspired Viva La
Vida and the decorations were amazing. A lot of hard work went into transforming
the Raye Freedman Arts Centre into a tribute to this amazing artist s work it was an
explosion of fowers and colour! There was a huge paint-by-numbers piece of artwork
which all the students and parents alike could help to paint, as well as students
dressed as Frida Kahlo portraits wandering around the event. Little Wolf catered for
the evening and provided an array of delicious Mexican-inspired food. After taking
photos in front of the Frida Kahlo themed backdrop, everyone moved into the
theatre for the awards ceremony. The ceremony was a wonderful display of all the
talent here at EGGS. Several of the schools music groups performed, as well as some
amazing performances from both Stage Challenge and the cultural groups, including
the Chinese Traditional Dance Group and the Samoan Group. Many students were
recognised for their service to Arts and Culture, as well as their immense talent in art,
drama and music.
