Dear Parents, Caregivers and Students
Thursday 2 June Choral & Chamber
Showcase Concert
The West Side Story season has been a very special example of community one of our
School Values. This event involved students from both Epsom Girls Grammar School and
Auckland Grammar School; and the Raye Freedman Arts Centre staf, and parents from Coming up in Week 6....
the Arts Council. I would like to thank everyone involved and reiterate how much each Monday 6 June Queens Birthday
audience enjoyed this very professional show. In particular I know how much the students Tuesday 6 June World Vision Week
enjoyed working with Anna Richardson, Director, Peter Thomas, Musical Director, Rebekkah Friday 10 June Year 13 Ball
Schoonbeek-Berridge, alumna and Choreographer; and Olivia Hadlow, alumna and Director s
Assistant. A large staf team, including Vocal Coach Virginia Le Cren, Producer Laura Harvey
and our liaison contact at Auckland Grammar School, Mr James Knightly, supported this
event in a variety of roles. The signifcant number of students involved in cast, orchestra,
crew and volunteers have been outstanding in their commitment, performance and pursuit
of the arts. They are a source of pride for their families and their school.

At the Secondary Principals Conference this year Nathan Mikaere-Wallis presented a
keynote on the teenage brain and he has been on National Radio recently on the efects of
alcohol on the brain. Parents may be interested in these broadcast links:
