Media release - Epsom Girls Grammar School Sports Centre Opened


Epsom Girls Grammar School has taken a giant leap into the modern
learning environment with the opening of the state-of-the-art, Joyce
Fisher Sports Centre.

Principal, Lorraine Pound says Providing young women and the
community with a facility that enhances participation, health and
wellbeing helps grow a stronger community.

130 guests attended the occasion, including special guests, Lady
Susan Satyanand, Patron and an alumna of the school and the
Honourable Nikki Kaye, Minister for Youth, Associate Minister for
Education, to cut the ribbon and declare the Joyce Fisher Sports
Centre ofcially opened.


Mrs Pound described the facility as a milestone in the schools
progressive development . She added: It is fundamental for modern
learning to have facilities that meet the needs of young women.
The Sports Centre includes international size courts and stadium seating, a multi-purpose dividing curtain, ftness centre, dance studio,
lecture rooms and mezzanine for events.

In 2017, Epsom Girls Grammar School celebrates 100 years as a leading girls school in New Zealand.
