EGGS 2016 Father & Daughter Breakfast held on 10th August

Dear parents, caregivers and students KOREAN NIGHT

Congratulations to the Head Prefect team and Najira Khanam, Communications and Events,
on a very successful Father Daughter Breakfast. It was a good opportunity for men of Epsom
fathers, father fgures and even some grandfathers - to get to know each other and network.
Thanks to guest speaker Mike King who provided us all with a lot to think about, and to Lucy
and Shanaia for their duet performance.

The Year 12 Ball was a really enjoyable occasion and thanks go to Sarah Stenson, Deputy
Principal, the Deans - Wendy Bunting and Claire McConachie, and the student Ball Committee
who did a wonderful job of organising the event.

Curriculum Drama is a real strength in this school going back over a long period. This year
has been no exception with a combined Year 12 and 13 performance of Caryl Churchills
"Love and Information" last week. Next week sees the completion of the season with a Year
13 production of Arthur Meek s "On The Upside Down of the World".

Trafc and road safety are topics that come to me reasonably often. Please remember,
whether we are driving or walking, we need to keep in mind the safety of ourselves and
others. We have no entry into Silver Road when dropping students to school in the mornings
because of major congestion. I have seen some drivers very frustrated with each other - when
they are perhaps running a bit late also, drivers do not always show their best driving skills
and safety is a real concern. Please do not come into Silver Road at all in the mornings, but
rather, make sure that students are dropped of in a nearby street, safely.

Tournament Week is fast approaching starting on Monday 29 August. Following the ofcial
week there are also, of course, a number of sports who have national competitions well into
September. I know preparations are underway and the School will be wishing all teams well
for their competitions.
