It was a busy July school holidays for Epsom students playing
Representative Netball.

In the frst week: Killarney Morey was captain of the Auckland
U15/1 team which won the regional tournament in New Plymouth.
Killarney was also named in the Top 12 Tournament team and named
Mid-courter of the Tournament brilliant. Jade Panoho and Kristina
McCourtie in Auckland U15/2 placed 5th and Terewai Majury, our
only Epsom student in the Auckland Y9/1 team placed 7th.

Week two: Our school Premier 1 Captain Greer Sinclair and her team
mate Bianca Nagaiya were in action for the Auckland U17/1 team
in Rangiora for the NZU17 Age Group Nationals. Their team made
the national fnals where they went down fghting against a strong
Wellington team. Greer had an exceptional fnal and was recognised
for her skill during tournament week with selection into the Top 12
Tournament team.

Also selected for Representative Netball was Anna Millar for the Auckland Year 9/2 team and Georgia Higgins in the Pukekohe U17
team which also travelled to Rangiora.

Basketball Representatives

Our Basketball Captain Charlotte Armstrong was part of the
Harbour U19 team that claimed the U19 Girls National title
over the holidays! We also had Sakura Eason, Sarah Scoular and
Akita Papara-Welch competing for Auckland Counties in the
U17 Nationals.

NZSS Orienteering Champs

Jenni Long was the sole
representative for Epsom
Girls Grammar at the Schools
National Champs held in
Cambridge and its environs,
July 21 - 23. In the 5.1 km
Long Distance event over
steep farmland, dotted with
ignimbrite boulders and
clifs, Jenni delivered an
accurate and speedy run. She
placed 8th on this spectacular
and challenging terrain.
