Joyce Fisher Sports Centre Opened

The Joyce Fisher Sports Centre

Stage one of the Joyce Fisher Sports Centre was opened in 2011. As no further government funds were available to complete the Sports Centre, Epsom Girls Grammar School launched a $7 million fundraising campaign "Leading Women in Sport" to complete a state-of-the-art Sports Complex.

The Sports Complex comprises:

Joyce Fisher Sports Centre

  • Two full sized netball courts (also for basketball, badminton and volleyball) which can be reconfigured to one main international size court with spectator seating
  • Dance studio
  • Health and well-being suite
  • Mezzanine and viewing gallery
  • Fitness Centre
  • Lecture and study rooms
  • Offices

Courts

  • 4 new competition tennis courts
  • Multi-use courts for netball, hockey and physical education

With the generous support of individuals, trusts, sponsors and businesses Epsom Girls Grammar School opened stage two of the Joyce Fisher Sports Centre in April 2016. It now includes international size courts and stadium seating, a multi-purpose dividing curtain, fitness centre, dance studio, lecture rooms and mezzanine for events. The building provides first-rate facilities for the school and the local community.

The Joyce Fisher Sports Centre fosters the sporting and educational excellence of students to become leading women in sport, health, education and life. This architecturally designed building has been planned and built with longevity in mind. Care has been taken to make this an attractive, quality asset that the entire community can be proud of.

The Sports Complex is as much about the students as it is about the local community. It provides excellent facilities for the school’s 2,200 students who participate in over 40 sports and physical education classes. It will also benefit the residents of Epsom and the surrounding area who will have easy access to outstanding training and sports facilities. The Joyce Fisher Sports Centre can be used as a venue for both school and community activities, meetings, performances and events.
