Hope Through Hair Raises $10,300

What a great turnout and effort by so many on Sunday. By the end of the day over $10,000 had been raised for Christchurch Red Cross! Over 50 hairdressers dressed in black and red from around Auckland and even as far afield as Hamilton and Tauranga gave generously of their time and some fabulous haircuts all here in the EGGS gym . Throughout the day it was a great atmosphere with music, a sausage sizzle, coffee and general good humour. Ages ranged from 3months to great grandparents and everyone joined in enthusiastically. Well done Old Girl Amanda Evans for putting the whole thing together in just 6 days and for giving many of us an opportunity to help our fellow Kiwis in Christchurch.

Christchurch Girls High is the second oldest public girls school in New Zealand, is located close to the city, has a Hostel and has many other similarities to us here at EGGS.

The EGGS community has been shocked by the devastation the people of Christchurch are facing at this time. We have many connections through family, friends, colleagues, former staff and Old Girls. Our thoughts are with you all and our staff and students are keen to find ways in which we can support you. If there are any EGGS Old Girls or former EGGS staff who may need assistance with any temporary accommodation in Auckland please contact us and we would be pleased to endeavour to assist you via people amongst our school and Old Girls community. Please contact EGGS Foundation at 09 9706753 or foundation@eggs.school.nz
