Out of Zone Applications for 2013
Students who live outside the home zone are entitled to apply for out-of-zone places. Please note, the ballot is for places as a day girl. Students intending to apply as a boarder at Epsom House will need to complete a separate form.
The process we follow to select out-of-zone students is prescribed by legislation and is set out in our enrolment scheme.
Applicants will participate in a computer-generated ballot, which is conducted under the supervision of a practising lawyer. This selection process is completely random, the educational achievements of individual students are not taken into account by the school.
Some students receive priority to enrolment, they are (in order) sisters of current students, sisters of past students, daughters of past students, daughters of Board of Trustee members and employees. Each year the Board of Trustees will determine the number of out-of-zone places available after considering the level of in-zone enrolment. Places will be offered to applicants, first according to their priority group and then according to their position on the waiting list generated by the ballot.
Applicants will be notified by letter of the outcome of the ballot within a few days.
The school receives a large number of applications from out of zone applicants and unfortunately many students are unsuccessful in the ballot. It is important that you also apply to your local school for enrolment.
