EGGS Foundation Scholarships

Arts Council Scholarships: Awarded to  Year 9-12 students to foster and develop outstanding talent and emerging leadership in the Arts (Up to four awarded annually of $300.00).

Raye Freedman Scholarship: Awarded to students who have shown talent in the arts and commitment to the arts in their future study.  Applicants will have been recognised both within the School and at a regional or national level. (Up to three awarded annually of $1000.00).

Friends of Epsom Girls Grammar School Art Scholarship:  Awarded to an art student for tertiary study.

Kia Tu, Kia Maia Drama Scholarship: Awarded to an outstanding actress in Year 13 who has excelled in curriculum drama ($300.00).

Silver Road Literary Scholarship: Awarded to a Year 13 student actively involved in curriculum writing; recognised within the School or at regional/national level and planning to pursue a literary or creative writing course at tertiary level ($750.00).

John Williamson Scholarships:  Scholarships are awarded to Year 13 students who have established an excellent academic record in Year 12 and who are intending to continue with education at tertiary level.

The Foundation has established a Heritage Fund to provide scholarships for student activities such as Science Camps, Outward Bound, Writing and Drama workshops, summer schools, Olympiads and MUNA.

Emens-Spencer Physics Prize: Awarded for excellence in Physics to an EGGS student who intends to continue with University studies in Science, Mathematics or Engineering.

EGGS Endowed Scholarships

Hilda Chenery Memorial Scholarship:  Awarded for study for a degree in Commerce, Law or Business Management. $2500.00 is awarded annually for up to 3 years to assist with tuition fees and books.

Jean Heywood Scholarship:  For a former Epsom Girls Grammar School student studying for a Mathematics/Statistics degree at The University of Auckland ($2000.00 annually for up to 3 years).

Kathleen Mandeno Scholarship:  Awarded for study for a degree in mathematics, sciences or derivative subjects such as computer science and bio-engineering (not medicine, dentistry, architecture or farming). The scholarship pays for university study fees. A book allowance may also be included ($3500.00 annually for up to 3 years).

Rudall/Holmden Scholarships:  Awarded for study in History and/or Food Technology. (Four scholarships worth $2,000 each are awarded annually).

The Woolf Fisher Memorial Scholarship:  This scholarship is awarded to an Epsom Girls Grammar student enrolling at a tertiary institution.  It is awarded on the basis of the completion of Year 13, distinguished by academic excellence and involvement in a wide range of extra-curricular activities.

 

Additional Scholarships

Auckland Savings Bank Bursaries:  Bursaries are awarded to Year 13 girls whose academic performance in Year 12 was meritorious, and who are proceeding with Year 13 studies and eventually to tertiary education.

Epsom Girls Grammar School Old Girls Association Scholarships:  Two of these are awarded annually to Year 13 graduates to assist with tertiary study (2 scholarships awarded annually of $600.00).

Sports Scholarships:  These are provided in association with the Lois Dalley Trust. Five scholarships worth $500 each are awarded annually, one at each Year level.
