Hockey
"Stick-It", an opportunity for girls to have a go and learn basic playing concepts of hockey or brush up on skills for those who have played before, runs in the latter part of Term 1. More information will be advertised in the school daily notices.
The Auckland Secondary School Hockey competition opens in Term 2. Girls play in either U15 (Tuesday evenings) or Open Grades (Thursday or Friday evenings). Trials for the school teams take place in March. Trainings are before school at the AGS turf in Normanby Road, Monday or Wednesday mornings.
Games are played at various turfs around Auckland with start times ranging from 4.00pm to 5.30pm and consist of two halves of 25 minutes each. Players need to make their own arrangements for transport to and from the venues, which usually involves carpooling.
